Mums in Business PlaygroupThe BusinessMums Playgroup is a non-profit playgroup aimed at providing support for mothers who have chosen to start and run their own businesses whilst staying at home and raising their children. The playgroup provides a friendly environment where the children can play and mums can break some of the isolation that often comes with working from home. The playgroup takes place on Fridays from 3:30pm to 5:30pm at Theiss Cottage, Reynell Place, Kambah. It operates in a custom-fitted playgroup venue with: - A safe, softfall-covered outdoor play area with sandpit, climbing
structure, tricycles, scooters, balls and plenty of outside toys - An indoor toyroom with cubby-house, climbing gym, toys, dress-ups, library
and musical instruments - A fully-stocked craft area
- A child-sized bathroom for the kids and a separate bathroom for adults
- Changetables, bouncers and high-chairs
- Comfortable chairs for breastfeeding
- A secure kitchen area with microwave, fridge, oven and tea and coffee
making facilities
The fees are $20 per term per family and an annual ACT Playgroup Association fee of $29 per family. The playgroup also hosts regular evening networking sessions for mum entrepreneurs as well as workshops.

My Time Playgroup for Children with Disabilities or Chronic IllnessACT Playgroups is facilitating a playgroup for children with Disabilities or Chronic Illness and their siblings in the ACT aged 0-6years About My Time My Time groups provide local support for cares of a young child under school age with a disability or chronic health condition. My Time gives parents the chance to socialise and share ideas with others who understand the rewards and intensity of the caring role. Parents meet with people in similar circumstances who can understand their children's achievements and help with the challenges, to have fun, and find out about available community support. Children will have opportunities for both free and structured play activities including music, gross and fine motor play activities, sensory play and stories. The group will be supported by two early childhood trained facilitations from ACT Playgroups. Healthy Families PlaygroupA fun, hands on look at play and parenting. This facilitated playgroup provides parents with the opportunity to meet with other parents and guide their children's play in a supportive and welcoming enviroment. The playgroup provides art and craft, music, stories and other activities. A facilitator is available to support parents if they have any questions relating to parenting issues. Rhyming Connections
A program designed for parents and their young children/babies. It is a FREE 10 week program targeting inner north families and focuses on the pleasure and power of using rhymes, songs and stories together. Teaching is directed to the adults with the children (one child per adult) joining in, playing or napping. Rhythm, Rhyme, Music Time @ Cotton Tree Playgroup Cotton Tree Playgroup meets every Wednesday 10.00am to 12.00pm during daylight savings time and 9:30am to 11:30am for the rest of the year.
