Noahs Ark Resource Centre Inc

Noah's Ark is a not-for-profit community organisation that provides early intervention services for families with children aged 0-5 years. Our programs include Playschool for 3 year olds; facilitated Playgroups (Play & Learn); toddler music classes (Music with Mili); Conductive Education for children with multiple disabilities; a Toy Library with 8,500 toys and resources for hire. We have a strong commitment to children with special needs and provide support workers to enable participation by children with additional needs in our mainstream programs.

Cranleigh School

"Learning to live with dignity, respect and understanding"

Cranleigh is an ACT government school, which provides programs for children with special needs, in the age range 3-12. Cranleigh School's philosophy is based on the right of every child to obtain an individualised learning program which will allow them to develop to their full potential.

The school aims to develop self awareness and self esteem by according all students dignity and respect. Students are valued as individuals and this is promoted within the school and the wider community.

Our students have moderate to severe intellectual and/or multiple disabilities. To enrol families apply to the ACT Department of Education and Training placement panel.

Disability Sport Education Program (DSEP) - ACTSPORT

The DSEP is the state government program, housed at ACTSPORT, which coordinates the sport and recreational activities of people with a disability in the ACT. The DSEP aims to provide:

  • Information on sport and recreation opportunities for people with a disability in the ACT
  • Support to ACT sporting associations to create inclusive facilities and appropriate programs for people with a disability
  • Registration of athletes for national and international competitions
  • Resource centre for Disability Sport (Including Educational Material and Modified Sporting Equipment)
  • Education to coaches, teachers, school students and community leaders through the Disability Education Program.
  • Assistance with sourcing funding avenues and grant opportunities for disability sport

Disability Education Program is one of the core aims of the DSEP. Our team of presenters provide courses, workshops and seminars to coaches, teachers, sports administrators, tertiary institutions, workplaces, school students and community leaders on increasing awareness of inclusive practices, modifying equipment and adapting activities to include people of all abilities.
